Corper, and dated 1893. Depicted in this genre work is a calm scene capturing a field of harvesting in the countryside. Brilliant golden hues of grain deepen in the stacks where farmers gather the long stalks to dry out. The red poppies in the foreground and the red head dress on the women give it a nice color contrast. Signed lower left M. Corper 1893 Wonderful old original painting in very good condition as found. There is a tiny missing paint in the upper left hand quadrant of sky. Set in its original period frame in good condition but there are 3 very old small damages on the left side. This is a sparkling round very fine brilliant cut crystal pitcher with a
geometric design of squares with a sunburst motif on the bottom. In the circular reserve on the side there is an incised golf flag marked "19". The "nineteenth hole" meaning they are enjoying a drink after the game. Fun gift to a golfer. It was made by the English glass house of Stevens & Williams, Stourbridge, England. In excellent antique condition. Brilliant cut glass is thick, heavy, absolutely clear and deeply cut. The crystal used in the best cut glass has a high lead content. After cutting, the edges were hand-polished, using pumice or a potter's buffing wheel. The glass sparkles like diamonds and remains very clear, even a century later. The front can be opened with 6 St John's signature buttons. It has a small cap sleeve with lace like decoration on sleeve and bottom of the blouse. The skirt has an elastic waist and a flare bottom ending with the same lace like decoration. Material: Santana knit. It is St. John' signature fabric is wool 80% and rayon20% woven together. The top and bottom has two different size on the label, but they fit me perfectly and I am a size 12. When I bought it in the 1970s, I fell in love with it but they didn't have my size neither of the top or the bottom. The alterations person moved quickly with a measuring tape and some pins; then disappeared for approximately eight minutes. When she returned with the outfit, I slipped into them.
