Title:
Antique Snuff-Box Portrait Miniature Signed 2.5" Diam, 18th Century
Period:
18th century
Description:
Hand painted miniature portrait, signed by the artist "Remi" on top of a white snuff box. Late 1700s to early 1800s Century. It may have been done after a more famous artist's painting. This fine lovely well preserved painting is of a beautiful young lady of the 18th Century fashion. It has no chips or cracks. I could not take it out to examine it without the danger of damaging it, so what you're seeing here are digital photos through the cover. It is in very good condition for its age, other than the two age cracks which are visible in our images. There is no damage to the painting.
It closes perfectly.
Simple gold band frames the portrait. Not tested, but I strongly believe it to be gold. ...more
