This delicate bronze easel picture frame features acanthus and decorative motifs enameled in pink, blue and black with pink stones (two missing). The panel interior is lined with pink moire fabric, which create a wonderful coloristic harmony with the enameled stones. The frame has an angled hinged stand and hole for hanging.

This striking easel picture frame has a brass or bronze frame decorated with intricate beaded rows and decorative swags. Along the inside is a row of prong-set vibrant color purple stones, most likely amethysts. Each corner has an openwork bracket with a larger bezel-set faceted amethyst. Framing the frame at top center is a curvilinear decorative bow, also with a bezel-set amethyst. Behind is a hinged brass back board and wire stand. Marked E & J.B for E & J Bass Company of New York, makers of jewelry and other items from the 1890s until the 1930s.

Picture Frame Arts and Crafts Copper and Silver Easel Back

This rectangular picture frame is made of rich evenly anodized copper, with sterling silver open scrollwork applique on all four corners. An anodized copper back slides seamlessly into the frame, and has a hinged decorative easel. Both the back and easel are incised golden copper and have an IND manufacturers mark in cartouche, for I.N. Deitsch, Inc., 341 Fifth Ave., New York.
At the turn of the century, this was a fashionable retail stretch of Fifth Avenue around the Waldorf-Astoria (where the Empire State Building is today), Tiffany and Gorham were located just a couple of blocks to the north. The Deitsch company was known for silverware and other decorative objects in a contemporary stylish mode, and were active from about 1904 to 1920.
Hallmark found in: Trademarks of the Jewelry and Kindred Trades published in 1915. The frame is in great antique condition. 4-7/8" x 6-3/8" (12.4 cm x 16.2 cm) outside measurement; 3.5" x 5" (8.9 cm x 12.7 cm) picture opening....more
