This very attractive and well-executed work is oil on canvas. (It has been relined.) The pastoral scene depicts a herdswoman in a bold red and white frock coaxing a herd of six cows and seven sheep across a planked bridge above a stream. One cow is descending into the stilled stream to drink. A goat stands and observes the scene just beyond the cattle, on the opposite side of the bridge, woods in the distance, with a pale blue sky filled with pink tinged clouds above. Signed "A.
