This classic American antique 14 Kt yellow gold horseshoe pin is set with seventeen natural Mississippi river pearls. C hook and latch clasp closure. Marked on back 14 K and with a maker's mark. It is in excellent antique condition. Size: 1.25" high, 1.25" wide Weight: 6 grams American fine jewelry manufacturers in the late 19th and early 20th century used pearls from American rivers. These natural fresh water pearls were usually with lustrous, silky touch, and crinkled textures. They were commonly called Mississippi River pearls.
