This is a fine original Georgian ring from the 1820s. It has been crafted in 14 Kt rose gold. Set with 2 round rubies and 4 round emeralds, set in silver on the top of a gold shank. Closed back. The underside is engraved with MP initials in script, and each of the sides decorated with stylized bow motives. It is in good condition, but shows age. Unmarked but acid tested and guaranteed to be 14Kt. Size: 8.5 (can be sized smaller) Total weight: 1 gram The term Georgian refers to an era in English history during the reign of King George I-IV from 1714 - 1830. Sometimes the term is applied to jewelry from other countries (France, Italy, and the United States for example). Closed backs were used. |
