Description:
18kt yellow gold custom made cuff-links. Chalcedony agate intaglio seal of a crest is set in 18 Kt yellow gold rectangular casing. A strand of cable link chain connects it with a bar. Marked with a crown for Sheffield and a number 18 in separate cartouche. The date letter is missing, so I don't know the year it was made. The cuff-links and the stones are in excellent vintage condition. Well set stone, with crisp design.

The crest is of The 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) Regiment with Prince Albert's personal motto: "Treu und Fest" (faithful and strong). The inscription "Honi soit qui mal y pense" is the motto of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. The 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) was a cavalry regiment of the British Army established in 1715. Prince Albert became its colonel in 1840. It saw service for three centuries, including the First World War and Second World War but then amalgamated with the 10th Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales' Own) to form the Royal Hussars in 1969.
