A pair of impressive vintage earrings from the 1960s. The mobe
pearls set in solid 14k yellow gold frame. Pearls are white, 16
mm diameter, and 9 mm high. They have beautiful luster. It is for
pierced ears, but can be easily converted to accommodate non
pierced ears. It is part of an estate I bought from a society lady.
Marked 14 Kt on the back of the clip, and it was also tested with acid. Earrings are in excellent vintage condition. Size: 16 mm pearls, 3/4" diameter. Total weight 8.5 grams Mabe pearls are semi-spherical cultured akoya pearls. Instead of the pearls growing inside the body of the mollusk, they grow against the inside shell which causes Mabe pearls to have a flat side. |
