Pair of 19th century hand painted Hungarian folk art pottery plates. Handwritten description on the back of the plates are in Hungarian, translates to: "It was made in 1884 September 17th in Saros Nagy Patak at Molnar Janos potter master". Reticulated (pierced) edges. Both are in good antique condition. Some crazing and one has a crack on the surface. Original with no restorations. Please see photographs. It was not used, just hung on the wall as decoration. Size 10" diameter. |
