Description: |
Antique Russian silver snuff tobacco hinged box, with gilt interior.
Decorated with whimsical swirling motifs with striped and checkered
sections all around the box. It is in good antique condition. The
hinges are firm and the lid closes nicely The vermeil interior is marked on both top and bottom with the maker's mark in Cyrillic letters F. M. The assay mark is A.K. 1848, and 84 (for 875/1000 silver). On the top: the two letters F. M. again, the mark for Moskow (St George slaying the dragon) and 84 Size: 3" L, 1.75" W, 5/8" D (74 mm L, 44 mm W, 15 mm D) Weight: 76.5 grams |
