This unusual silver besamim spice container displays three acanthus leaf motifs on a pear-shaped body. There is a six-footed base and a flat six-part pierced hinged top. This Austrian-Hungarian mark was used until 1866. The letter at the top indicates the town, A for Vienna. The 13 indicates the silver purity: 813. It is in very good condition. I see only one little dent at the foot. Size:4" (10.2cm) high, 1.5" (3.8cm) diameter at base Weight: 62 grams |
